President Donald Trump has picked Wisconsin Republican activist Steve King to be U.S. ambassador to the Czech Republic.

Trump’s administration announced the long-rumored pick Monday.

King, of Janesville, is a longtime leading voice in the Republican Party of Wisconsin. He served as a Republican National Committeeman and helped oversee planning and arrangements for the 2016 Republican National Convention.

King is a GOP appointee to the Wisconsin Elections Commission.
